5 AI Tips, June 2026: Synopsis

This is a practical webinar by Ray Poynter, part of the NewMR AI Tips series, walking research and insights professionals through five hands-on techniques for using AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude) more effectively in their day-to-day work.

After a “Tip Zero” reminder to check your configuration first (security, memory settings, internal connections, and the trade-offs of free models), the session covers:

  1. Use AI to help create better prompts: Introduces the RACE framework (Role, Action, Context, Expectations) and shows how to get the AI to interview you before drafting a strong prompt, worked through with a data-file review example.
  2. Pasting images and screenshots: Demonstrates that visual inputs often beat text descriptions when you want AI to help you operate software or tackle manual tasks, using a ChatGPT connections audit as the worked case.
  3. Two models to verify analyses: Recommends running analyses through two different models (or two instances) to reduce hallucination risk, while distinguishing deterministic statistics from iterative, non-deterministic ones like cluster analysis.
  4. Using AI with your regular programs: Encourages reaching for Copilot or Claude inside Office 365, and Gemini inside Google Workspace, rather than treating AI as a separate destination, with fallback options for those without embedded tools.
  5. Schedule prompts: Shows how to set recurring prompts (daily, weekly, monthly) in Copilot, Gemini, and ChatGPT for information gathering, reminders, and routine reporting.
